Old School House at Bonang
About
Old School House at Bonang
The Old School House at Bonang is situated in a patch of farmland created amongst the bush, along the twisty Bonang Road (C612).
To the north is the Alpine National Park. To the west is the Snowy River National Park. To the southeast is the Erinunderra National Park. Immediately surrounding it are the Bonang and Bendoc State Forests.
The original primary school at Bonang opened on 16 May 1887, creating a place of learning for children in the surrounding remote area. Gold, timber and grazing were the main industries at the time. That building burnt down, in dubious circumstances.
